Diffuse your way to good health with Essential Oils

The use of essential oils (EOs) has recently skyrocketed – and for good reason. One of nature’s best-kept secrets for centuries, the use of essential oils, is a simple and effective way to shift your mood and vitality almost instantaneously.  Embraced by cultures since the period of 3000-2500 B.C., they’re time-tested and now research-confirmed.  Modern lifestyles don’t always create optimal conditions for physical wellness. Poor diet, lack of exercise, and an overabundance of environmental toxins can leave the body unbalanced and diminish energy levels. From weight management to supplemental support, essential oils and essential oil-infused products can provide the targeted solutions you need to restore balance and feel your best.

What are Essential Oils?

The purest essential oils are extracted from the leaves, flowers, fruits, seeds, bark, stems and roots of wild-grown plants carefully cultivated in various climates around the globe. When produced and handled with care, they can retain important therapeutic qualities of the plant. They are typically created through the process of distillation, which separates the oil and water-based compounds of a plant by steaming.

What are some uses for EOs?

Add some of the most common essential oils like lavender, frankincense, lemon, peppermint and tea tree oil to your natural medicine cabinet to:

  • Fight cold and flu symptoms
  • Relax your body and soothe sore muscles
  • Heal skin conditions
  • Alleviate pain
  • Balance hormones
  • Improve digestion
  • Reduce cellulite and wrinkles
  • Clean your home

How do EOs work?

As valuable as they may be, essential oils just sitting in a bottle won’t do you much good.  You must get them into your body.  While many people like to massage them into their skin – and that’s an excellent way to use certain essential oils, the fastest and most efficient way to get essential oils into your lungs and throughout your body is through your sense of smell. Your nose contains olfactory receptors that respond to scents. These receptors send chemical messages along the nerve pathways to your brain’s limbic system, also known as your “emotional brain.”

Your limbic system controls many basic functions: breathing, heart rate, memory, stress levels, and even your hormones. It’s intimately involved with your moods and emotions.  When your limbic system or your “emotional brain” is stimulated by the scent of an essential oil, it can have profound effects on your mind and body. Scents can invoke memories, stimulate feelings, and arouse your senses.  A great way to “fast track” the delivery of essential oils to your body and your emotional brain is by using a diffuser.

Are all EOs created the same?

High-quality organic EOs can indeed support your emotional and even physical health.  However, one of the most vital things you must know about EOs is that not all essential oils are created equally. In fact, many of them are synthetic and completely worthless to your body.

When buying EOs ideally, make sure they are certified USDA organic, 100 percent pure, therapeutic grade and indigenously sourced. The purest essential oils we’ve found to date are Epoch Essential Oils.  Epoch combines the most scientific technology with time proven natural ingredients used successfully by cultures across the globe. EOs Contraindications

Because EOs can act as a powerful form of natural medicine, understand that there are a few instances where they are not recommended for usage:

  • Pregnancy– Basil, cinnamon, clary sage, clove, cypress, fennel, jasmine, juniper, marjoram, myrrh, rose,
rosemary, sage and thyme. In most cases, these oils are completely healthy but because they can affect hormones they are not recommended during pregnancy.
  • Blood thinners– Clary sage, cypress, eucalyptus, ginger, rosemary, sage and thyme may potentiate the effects of blood thinners.

In general, aromatherapy is a safe and inexpensive way to help promote healing, relaxation, and well-being without adverse side effects.  Visit our boutique to take advantage of our favorite 8 oil package at wholesale pricing!
